I am exited to announce that the first single off my upcoming album, “Fly Out” is available on all streaming platforms. The music video is up on my YouTube Channel!
9,632 is a song I wrote while I was backpacking at Philmont Scout Ranch in Northern New Mexico.
“It’s a sweltering summer afternoon on the trail at Philmont Scout Ranch in the high desert of New Mexico. Black burn scars streak the sides of trees and the heat is vicious. Backpacking food is dry and tasteless and I miss my family. A glimpse of hope appears in the form of a single bar of cell phone reception to call home. “I’m 9632 feet up high. The journey here was tough, but I can almost touch the sky. The wind up here is brutal and I feel so very small, so won’t you please pick up the phone and take my call? As I rest on jagged rocks, I pull out my small Rite-in-the-Rain notebook and scribble down these four lines. I keep them in my head as I trudge through the barren forest. ”
